What specialties do you provide revenue cycle management services to?
APS serves a variety of specialties across the United States. While we began in radiology medical billing 40+ years ago, we now provide revenue cycle management services to pathology, cardiology, internal medicine, hospitalist, and anesthesiology practices nationwide. Our parent company Assembly Health serves 40+ specialties.
Do you provide coding services?
APS provides complete Procedure (CPT) and Diagnosis coding. APS provides prospective and retrospective coding and documentation audits to ensure accuracy and compliance. Services with documentation issues or questions are returned to our clients through the Return to Client (RTC) process for feedback and or correction. APS also provides regular coding and documentation audits and provider education for compliance and revenue enhancement purposes. Learn more here.
Do you offer clients provider enrollment and credentialing services?
Yes, APS provides payor enrollment and credentialing services. Each client is assigned a dedicated Provider Enrollment specialist who maintains active enrollment with your insurances. APS’s enrollment and credentialing database allows us to track your credentials and insurance revalidation, so they are renewed before their expiration dates. Learn more here.
How are patient questions handled?
Patients have access to a US-based call center, Monday through Friday, located at our corporate office in Wareham, Massachusetts. Patients can also update their insurance information and make payments via our voice automated system or through our web-based patient portal. Patients can find our contact information here.
Can you perform practice assessments of our current billing processes?
APS periodically audits our clients' revenue cycle management process. It provides a valuable practice assessment and may identify areas that need improvement. APS offers comprehensive RCM reports which combine your practice’s actual revenue cycle data and local and national benchmarking to provide you with an unbiased comparative analysis of your practice’s productivity, utilization, and reimbursement data.
How does APS verify that insurance payments are accurately reimbursed?
APS utilizes our own propriety technology that allows us to load your contracted fee schedules by payor and compare actual payments against those contracted rates. Our payment recovery specialists research discrepancies for validation and collection of underpayments.
Does APS provide physician education and training?
Yes, APS educates physicians and staff on an ongoing basis. Some examples include coding updates, front-end dictation feedback (Return to Client), claim denials (Denial to Client), and various performance trends.
Will I have a dedicated contact for my account management?
Yes, each client is assigned a dedicated Client Services Manager who is the direct liaison between your practice and APS.
Does APS offer assistance with negotiating managed care contracts?
Yes, APS does help analyze and negotiate managed care contracts.
